It is no secret that Tim Burton had a troubled childhood as he portrays through his films.
Tim Burton grew up in Burbank in Los Angeles and says that he gets shivers just thinking of the place. Burton's bedroom windows looked over "the lawn" and for some reason he doesn't know still to this day his parents bricked them up and just left a little slit at the top of each of them and that was his windows, so he used to have to climb up on his desk just to see out of them. He calls it his "windowless childhood".
